The North American Mission Board is providing a special Pastor Appreciation Lunch on April 27th at 11:30 at the Catawba Baptist Church. Rob White will share about some news about NAMB and provide some gifts to the pastors and then Mark Hobafcovich will speak to us.

Mark Hobafcovich – A Romanian-American Christian leader and author (Defector: A True Story of Tyranny, Liberty and Purpose). At the age of twenty he immigrated to Australia. On his very first day in the new country (1981) was invited by a layman to a local church where he heard the Gospel message and responded with faith to Christ. Mark attended Victoria Bible College (Melbourne, Australia) and Baptist Theological College (Brisbane, Australia)

Mark has preached the gospel since 1982 and served as pastor church-planter in Australia and later in the United States where, since 1997 has served with the Southern Baptist Convention’s North American Mission Board mobilizing pastors and churches to impact the world with the good news of the gospel. Mark believes that making disciples of all people (Matthew 28:16-20) is not only the Lord Jesus Christ’s commandment but also every believer’s privilege as His followers, and it ought to be our first priority. He and his wife, Christine has been married since 1985 and lives in metro Atlanta. They have two daughters, Hadassah and Elizabeth.
